Neuro Associative Conditioning

So if you have ever looked towards bettering yourself I can almost guarantee you have heard of Tony Robbins.

I have been learning from Tony Robbins for about five years now and have just recently REALLY learned from him.

What I am trying to say is this; most people buy a product or go to a seminar and never really do anything with it. This is the problem 99% of people in the world have and is the main reasons people like Tony Robbins and other successful motivators are in business.

I recently got tired of not being in control and am now actually studying his program, Get The Edge!

The one thing I wanted to touch on in his program was what he calls “Neuro Associative Conditioning”.

This is the way your brain deals with day to day emotions. When you want a cigarette or another piece of chocolate cake, neuro association is what tells you it is okay to do so.

The way we work is rather simple really. We link everything to either pain or pleasure; no more no less.

Everything we do is to avoid pain and gain pleasure even though our perception of what pain is can be totally false.

So when you procrastinate and put things off it is because your brain thinks of doing the work as pain. That is why most people put things off until the last minute.

Lets say you have a paper due in two weeks. For most procrastinating people they keep telling themselves that they have plenty of time and keep putting it off. They are avoiding the perceived pain of doing the paper NOW.

So now lets say you have put this paper off for the entire two weeks and it is due tomorrow. Now your brain tells you that you will have more pain if you DONT do the paper than if you do, and you end up cramming it in the night before.

That was my normal style of operation for a long time but that is no longer the case.

Since I have learned what neuro associative conditioning was I am now teaching my brain to not associate pain with the stuff I need to do. I tell my brain that it is good to work out and good to eat healthy foods instead of the other way around.

I know this was not entirely in depth but I am still learning and will share more with you as I progress. If you have any questions please leave them in the comment section below and I will do my best to answer them.

Thanks immensely for the time you have taken to brief on NAC. It is valuable information for me and most people, I am sure. I am interested in how you can actually avoid procrastination using the NAC technique. Does one need to buy Robbins’ book or sign up for coaching?
