So here you are, all ready to get some stuff done. You have all your goals set and are ready to tackle the world.

Two months later you sit back down to look at your goals but notice you have not accomplished a thing.

Why is that? How can you be so motivated to accomplish something and then a couple of weeks go by and you could care less?

This is something that happens to millions of people each month and I think I have come up with a solution.

Like you, I have set tons and tons of goals and have never gotten anywhere with them. They go on paper and then I might look at them again in six months to see if they were met. This is obviously not going to work.

Well here are some tips I have come up with that will help you through your goal setting needs.

1.) SET SIMPLE GOALS

- When you first start setting goals make sure they are simple. The reason for this is momentum. What you want to do is teach yourself that you are able to set goals. Once you start completing small, simple goals, your brain will associate pleasure from it and you will want/need to set more. This creates a chain of events that leads to extraordinary results.

2.) SET SHORT TERM GOALS

-Anyone I have ever heard that talks about goals has said you should set your yearly and lifetime goals and blah blah blah. I believe that those types of goals are important, but you have to remember that your mind changes probably every ten minutes in regards to what you want in life. Well it might not be that bad but you know you change your mind a lot.

My advice to you is to set weekly, monthly and quarterly goals. These goals are easier to achieve because your mind doesn’t push them off to the back of your mind. When you set a short term goal, you are focused on it. Short term goals include the weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals. You want to always be thinking about them, not thinking about them every six months because it’s some sort of impossible lifetime goal. Keep them short and attainable and you will be amazed at what you can achieve.

3.) REVIEW THEM DAILY

-EVERY single day you should be looking at your goals. You want those goals at the forefront of your mind and the only way to do that is by keeping focus. Another quick bit of info is to make sure you don’t set to many goals at one time. I would go for no more than three in each category. Three weekly goals, three monthly goals and three quarterly goals; that’s it!

But the point here is to make sure you are keeping your goals short, attainable, and reviewable. You have to set yourself up for success if you want to succeed.

Now that you have the key to setting goals, what are you waiting for? Get yourself a piece of paper and set those goals. Keep them on you at all times and when you have some free time, take a look at them.
