Psychology of Success Part 1

Psychology of Success.

I’m sure there’s a field of psychology out there devoted to success.   The habits, thoughts, and feelings of the super successful.  The CEO’s, the Millionaires, actors, pro-sports players, the best at any field or sport.

I am referring to a behavior that we have recently discovered among people we know personally.

People go about their daily lives, and when presented with an opportunity to change their direction they:

1. Refuse the opportunity

2. Deflect the opportunity

3. Flake out of the opportunity

Now, I’ve known one thing for a long time:  Business is not for everyone.  There are so many risks, hoops to jump through and work to be done to make it work and make it profitable.

It absolutely amazes me though, how people still fear business even when you take away 95% of the risk, 95% of the hoops, and 95% of the work to make a profit.

$500, $40 per month and a desire to make boat loads of cash.   I wouldn’t think this would be so hard!

I truly believe that people are afraid of success.

Here’s the scenario: “I want to hire you now,  and in 18 months you will be making $10,000 per month.  You must go through training, and you must pay for this out of pocket.   I am giving you the authority to hire other people to work for you.  The more people you hire, the more bonuses I will give you and the more money you will make along the way.  You MUST hire 4 people in the next month or you will be fired.  You can make money from Day 1 by booking travel/vacation related trips, and so will your workers.   They will also make 10,000 per month in the same time frame IF you allow them to hire 4 people each.    The out of pocket training is $500, and you must pay for your own company maintained website at $40 per month.      What do you say?!”

Those that are comfortable with their job, or two jobs say: $500? that’s a lot of money, i’m not sure if it will work.

Those that are scared of making so much money say:  10,000?  What kind of scam is this?  You can’t make that much money.

Those that hear that we’ve made that much money say: It won’t work for me, I can’t do it.

The psychology of success says that people will avoid their dreams and desires unless it is forced upon them with no other option available.

The Minds of Wealth Group

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

In the massive cluster of the virtual blog world, you can find many sites with many visitors.  We hope that our site will eventually reach this status.  In the meantime we have assembled an in person group based on the Master Mind philosophy in the Power of Focus.

This small set of individuals meeting about once every two weeks is the only one of its kind that we are aware of in our area.  There are many so called “Leads groups” which seem to be more focused on bureaucracy and telling the same people about their same business than actually trying to improve business.

Our goals are to use each other to stay focused on our individual goals, get feedback and opinions about how to better our businesses, and to use our collective thoughts to create something exponentially more powerful than any of us could do alone.

We currently have a lawn care company, an eBay store, a contractor/real estate expert of all trades/ and a media creative computer genius.  Each of us from very different backgrounds, in different boats but in the same small pond.

I encourage anyone reading this blog to put together their own group.   We initially were going to put an ad in the paper looking for a “Super Mentor Business Extraordinaire”. Due to some procrastination and missing newspaper deadlines we didn’t make that happen.  We were fortunate enough that Matt made some phone calls and put together the group as it stands now.

Stay tuned to the blog for updates about the future we hold in our hands.

Get Rich Quick Scams Revealed!

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Read this special article before considering buying or joining a “Get Rich Quick” program.

This article came from the experts at www.AlltheDough.com

January 27th 2008

From the desk of Jane Sanders (Senior Reviewer)

Wouldn’t it be nice to make a bundle of money quickly, with minimal effort, working at home in your pajamas? Of course it would. I for one would love to have money flowing into my bank account, working only a few hours a week from home, so I’d have more time to spend with my kids and my husband, without any boss looking over my shoulder.

Whether it’s real estate investing, selling by classified ads, stock market investing, internet affiliate marketing, or something else, we’ve all seen the fantastic claims people make about making tons of money, AND how they can show you how to do the same thing. I can tell you right now that 99% of these people are total frauds. You may have even fallen prey to one of these scam artists, selling you their latest “Get Rich Quick” program. Me too. I’ve bought so many of these programs that I can’t even recall how many. I don’t know why, but I tend to find the “good” in people, and I was “sold” by the marketing schemes time and time again, even after being scammed by another. Finally, after so many disappointments, I got FED UP. I decided to get to the bottom of this fascination we all have with get rich quick programs, and find out if there really were any LEGITIMATE programs for making money.

I literally contacted the administrator of every get rich quick website I could find. Posing as an investor, I managed to convince the owners that I was seriously interested in purchasing their entire website and business. That way, once the dollar signs flashed in their heads, they would give me free access to their member’s areas to review what I would be ”buying”. Well I was disgusted with 99% of what I found. Many of the owners actually boasted about how many people bought their useless programs. I repeatedly found:

  • Outdated information
  • Non-working links
  • Links leading to other sites that asked for more money
  • No help section
  • No real e-mail support

I quickly realized that these so-called Get Rich Quick programs were totally useless. And the owners knew it, yet they were laughing all the way to the bank! Needless to say, I didn’t respond when they asked me if I was still interested in buying their websites. Surprisingly, while sifting through all of the scam artists’ websites, I was able to locate a couple individuals that actually ran legitimate programs.

The owners were everyday peoples like you and I that found a way to make extra money working from home on their computers. Their membership areas were impressive, with a good amount of quality information on how to make $100-$200 per day on your computer doing very little work. I even chatted with a few of their customers on several online forums, and they verified that they were making extra money through the sites. It was like I found a few diamonds in the rough. But don’t take my word for it, you can visit the 2 sites for yourself. See what you think.

They do charge a minimal fee for access to their program, which is to be expected for any legitimate company that actually has people on staff who are dedicated to helping you get started. What a friendly group of people! Anyway, if you do decide you are interested in either of the two programs below, I advice you join quickly, as the owners have informed me that are getting so many new members by word of mouth referrals, that they are closing off membership completely in the next 2 or 3 days. (By the way, you didn’t hear this from us!) They don’t have a large enough staff to accommodate many more people, and they are dedicated to providing excellent service to each person.

Well, my search for legitimate Get Rich Quick programs has come to an end. I have to say I was thoroughly disappointed with most of what I found, and I strongly advise that you do not take chances joining any programs other than the ones listed below! Whatever you do, I wish you a healthy, prosperous year for you and yours.

All the best.

Signed,                                                                                                                                                               Jane Sanders

Roadblocks to Wealth: Obtaining Credit

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

Everyone has perfect credit right?

For any person to build a business, buy real estate or invest in stocks you need cash. This can be your savings, or an inheritance but for most of us it is in the form of a Loan.

Credit of course is what many lenders would look at to determine if you should get a loan.

If you have good credit: Congratulations, you have eliminated a potential roadblock with your money management.

If you have bad credit: Visit Budget your way to Billions Part III: The Technique to get your personal budget on track and start paying those bills.

Everyone should go to www.annualcreditreport.com and get a free copy of your credit report from all three credit bureaus. For a small fee you can get your credit score. I recommend just picking one. The score is probably about the same unless there are errors on your credit report. There should be nothing on these reports that surprises you. Please make sure that all the information is correct and file a dispute for anything that is not.

If you suffer from lack of credit then get out there an establish it. Credit cards are nothing to be afraid of if you exercise discipline. To save on interest charges you should pay off your balance every month. However, if you want to build up reputation with a bank I recommend that you don’t pay balances off completely. Banks make $0.00 when you pay off your credit cards, but they do make money from interest. I have never worked for a credit card issuer but I suspect they have extensive mathematical models that rank customers based on credit worthiness AND profitability.

To build credit take these steps:

1. Open up at least 2 credit cards, and pay them EVERY month.

2. Open a car loan that is within your budget. (This is easier than you may think)

3. Stop by a local bank and see if you can apply for a personal unsecured line of credit. This can be as small as $500 or $1000.

The most important step is the focus you will need to pay all of these on time every time once you establish them.

If you need help with discipline I suggest checking out our Discipline category.

You’ll see much more on credit in the future. Please bookmark us!
